Alma Harmony Dye-VL
Dye-VL IPL
Treat sun damage, brown spots, redness, broken capillaries and uneven skin tone — with light.
Why Dye-VL?
My new Alma Harmony Dye-VL is the next generation of light-based skin treatments.
Unlike traditional IPL, which uses a very broad spectrum of light, Dye-VL uses a more targeted range of light specifically chosen for brown pigment and vascular redness.
That means I can target the things that make skin look blotchy and sun damaged:
- Sun damage
- Brown spots
- Age spots
- Freckles
- Facial redness
- Rosacea-related redness
- Broken capillaries
- Uneven skin tone
The goal is simple: clearer, brighter, more even-looking skin.
Targeting Brown & Red
Melanin — brown
Sun spots, freckles and unwanted pigmentation.
Hemoglobin — red
Redness, visible capillaries and superficial vascular concerns.
Traditional IPL spreads its energy across a much broader spectrum. Dye-VL concentrates the useful light into a narrower range, allowing me to specifically target unwanted red and brown color in the skin.
Sun Damage & Brown Spots
Dye-VL targets excess melanin in the skin. After treatment, brown spots will often temporarily become darker before gradually fading or flaking away over the following days.
Don't pick — let your skin heal naturally.
You'll gradually notice a clearer, brighter and more even complexion as that unwanted pigment disappears.
Redness & Broken Capillaries
Dye-VL also targets hemoglobin within superficial blood vessels, making it an excellent option for:
- Facial redness
- Rosacea-related redness
- Broken capillaries
- Telangiectasia
- Small visible vessels
Over time, the treated vessels are naturally cleared by the body and redness becomes less noticeable.
What to Expect
- Before — you'll wear protective eyewear and a layer of ultrasound gel is applied to your skin.
- During — the Dye-VL handpiece delivers quick flashes of light across the treatment area. Your eyes are protected, but you will still see a flash if your face is being treated. You'll feel warmth and possibly a snapping sensation. I customize the settings and treatment pattern to your skin type, condition and what we're trying to correct.
- After — your skin may be slightly pink or warm, and brown pigment may become noticeably darker before it begins to clear. Downtime is generally minimal.
When will I see results?
Some people notice improvement after just one treatment, especially with individual brown spots or visible vessels.
For more extensive sun damage, diffuse redness or rosacea, a series of treatments will usually give the best result. I will assess your skin and tell you what I think will work best.
After your treatment
Sun protection is non-negotiable. Treated pigment can be especially sensitive to UV exposure, so sunscreen, hats and smart sun avoidance are extremely important before and after treatment.
And again — please don't pick at darkened pigment.
